Chillers are mechanical cooling devices that move heat from the data center’s cooling fluid to an external medium. They maintain precise coolant temperatures regardless of ambient conditions and are ideal for high density racks.
The refrigerant inside a chiller gives off heat which is then transferred to an external cooling medium and removed. Heat rejection systems (towers, dry coolers, hybrid systems) safely remove thermal energy from the chillers.
