The Tripp Lite Rack Mount SRCOOL7KRME Cooling Unit, by Eaton, 8U, 9,000 BTU (2.7 kW) uses efficient close-coupled cooling to prevent equipment shutdowns and malfunctions due to overheating. The SRCOOL7KRME, uses R32 refrigerant to pump 9,000 BTU/h (2.7 kW) ASHRE of cooling into the IT space. R32 has a significantly lower global warming potential (GWP) compared to traditional refrigerants, which helps reduce the overall impact on climate change and comply with regulations.
Close-coupled air conditioning delivers cold air near heat loads to discourage recirculation and increase energy efficiency as much as 39 percent. Because it only cools the equipment inside the rack enclosure, it is much more efficient than solutions that cool an entire room to achieve the same result. It also filters the air, and its built-in evaporator eliminates condensation with no floor drain or water collection tank needed.
With a bottom-mounting configuration only, with the enclosure’s floor open and no tray or pan below the unit. Evaporator coils can be vented through the enclosure’s rear perforated doors or optional duct. In an open frame application, cooling air delivered to the equipment is lessened, since cold air escapes into the room. Condenser must be ducted.
